At a forum on higher education research and knowledge conducted by UNESCO in Dublin, Ireland on March 2008 the Limkokwing University was singled out by as an exemplary university with modern infrastructure for research and knowledge management.

Tan Sri Lim has impressed the global academic community with his philosophy of the Best of East and West. “We are Asian, African and European all at once in the way we think, in the way we see and do things. I believe that if you know only one side of the world but not the other, you will spend your lives knowing only half the story, seeing only half the picture and missing out on half the opportunities,” he said at the official opening of the University in London.
In Africa, especially, Tan Sri Lim has made huge strides in bridging the education gap between the continent and the rest of the world. He is working closely with African governments, such as Botswana, Lesotho, Swaziland and others to set up campuses where the continent’s next generation gain new skills and the confidence to set up new ventures in creative industries.
