Fast-expanding Limkokwing University of Creative Technology has blazed a trail again in Africa. This time, it is making its presence felt in the Lesotho capital of Maseru.

Limkokwing opened its second campus in Africa on Monday (25 August) after its successful foray into Botswana last year. It welcomed the first intake of 1,115 Basotho (as Lesotho’s people are called), all keen to hone new skills for the 21st century.

It was a sea of faces - thousands of them. They were faces of new Botswana students, all eager to sign up for courses at the Limkokwing Botswana campus in Gaborone.

The response was so overwhelming that the university’s complex at Block 7 was packed to capacity last week when it opened for the new intake. More than seven thousand students showed up to register.

Block 7 is a new complex, an extension of the university’s campus in Gaborone. Two other complexes operate in the city.

PHNOM PENH: Dr Jayles Yeoh, vice-president for international development of Limkokwing University of Creative Technology, said that 250 students are pursuing their tertiary education at Limkokwing Cambodia.

Speaking at a press conference here yesterday, Dr Yeoh said the students come from eight countries, namely, the Philippines, Malaysia, China, the United Kingdom, Indonesia, Botswana, Malta and Cambodia.
