Familiarisation tour…officials from Felda settlement in Sabah being greeted by Limkokwing academics.
Three officials of the Felda Wilayah Sahabat in Lahad Datu, Sabah, visited the Limkokwing campus in Cyberjaya on 28 March to ascertain the academic progress of their students under the Generasi Baru programme. They also took the opportunity to get better acquainted with the university.
The Sabah team led by Felda Wilayah Sahabat’s community development assistant director Puan Chendarasuri Binti Junji, met some of the 44 students from the district and encouraged them to work hard. The students are among the 1,300-strong Generasi Baru group from various Felda settlements.
“The knowledge acquired here can certainly be used to transform the branding and packaging of the many cottage products back at the Felda Wilayah Sahabat,” she told the students.
To gain an insight into the campus facilities, the visitors toured the Limkokwing Creativity Library, Malaysia Branding & Packaging Design Centre and the Sound and Music Design Academy. The university’s senior vice-president for academic development, Dato Parid Wardi, briefed them on Limkokwing’s vision and expansion plans abroad.
Puan Chendarasari praised the university for its business incubation units such as Wings Café and Making Headlines hair salon. “The environment here is certainly conducive for students to gain knowledge creatively,” she said.
