Awarded by Swinburne University of Technology, Australia

The Industrial Design programme produces designers of products, furniture, cars, medical equipment, sporting equipment and services – industries where social and technological changes, and social and environmental demand for innovation and improvement are constant.

Industrial Design students develop their creative and technological aptitude through a programme supported by business studies, professional practice, consumer knowledge and ethics.

The programme requires students to develop wider knowledge than the diploma programme. Research, analytical thinking and a more meaningful design process are all developed to a higher level. Students also have a higher level of understanding in manufacturing technology and materials.

Students are encouraged to develop their own specialised areas in the final year and to be able to develop solutions that are applicable in the real world. Students will be required to build models and prototypes either in-house or in collaboration with manufacturers.
