This degree programme is jointly offered by Limkokwing University College of Creative Technology and Curtin University of Technology, Australia. The curriculum of the programme is fully delivered by Limkokwing University College and moderated by Curtin University.

Interior designers, as qualified professionals, find creative solutions to problem relating to the function and quality of people’s built environment. Interior designers coordinate the design and construction of building interiors including commercial and retail office space, laboratories, intensive care units, computing areas, hotel and resort developments, theatres, as well as presentation environments for boutique and large scale retailing, trade fairs, exhibitions, museums and gallery exhibition and displays. Designers require skills and understanding in all aspect of design, combined with technical knowledge of interior construction, equipment and building systems. They must also exercise ability in communication and administrative skills.

Students can complete their whole duration of degree studies at Limkokwing University College with a Bachelor of Arts (Hons) in Interior Design, which is a degree recognised by the Design Institute of Australia.

While the recommended duration for the degree is a total of four years with one-year foundation, students may choose to plan their education at their own pace. Flexible scheduling of the programme in years 3 and 4 allows part-time learning for working students.

Entry requirements

∙ 2 principals STPM/'A’ levels or equivalent
∙ 5 credits SPM/O’ levels or equivalent
∙ Limkokwing’s Foundation in Built Environment

Students with recognised diploma in a related field will be given advanced standing into the degree programme.

Transfer students

Portfolio assessment by the Programme Leader is required to assess appropriate level of entry into the Interior Design programme. The majority of transfer students who have completed the minimum of a Diploma in Interior Design or its equivalent are accepted into the programme but must undertake required units which is determined by assessment of syllabi, results and standard of student’s work compared to the Limkokwing/ Curtin standard.
